K. Danny Talwar – MD, FACC

Dr. Talwar was raised in Houston where he compleyed his early education and also received his medical degree from the University of Texas Houston. In 1997 he joined UTMB Galveston and completed his three year Residency training in internal medicine. After graduating from his Residency he Joined Tulane University Medical Center for Cardiology fellowship training and received excellent training in invasive cardiology. Then he joined University of Florida in Jacksonville for sub specialization in interventional cardiology where he was involved in cutting edge research on drug eluting stents and intravascular ultrasound. He had the opportunity to train and work under the guidance of nationally renowned cardiologists Dr. Theodore Bass who is the national president of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions as well as Dr. Marco Costa who is a nationally known interventional cardiologist and expert in many of advanced interventional cardiology procedures.

After completing his interventional cardiology fellowship Dr. Talwar was involved in a very busy interventional cardiology practice in Georgia for six years and then when on to further training in the sub specialty of Electrophysiology. He completed formal fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology from medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Talwar is one of very few cardiologists in the country who have completed formal training both in the sub specialty of interventional cardiology as well as cardiac electrophysiology and he is bringing his unique expertise to Northwest Houston Heart Center. His focus will be on cardiac arrhythmia ablationas, and device implantation as well as coronary/peripheral vascular stent placement. He is also trained in Nuclear cardiology and will be part of active Cardiac Pet program at Northwest Houston Heart Center.

Dr. Talwar has keen interest in clinical research and has participated in national cardiology trials on therapies for atrial fibrillation, lead extraction and drug eluting stents. He plans to continue his clinic research activities at Northwest Houston Heart Center.

Dr. Talwar has an exceptional traing and educational background and is eager to come back to his home town of Houston. He is looking forward to contribute to the advancement of medical care in Northwest Houston and Tomball area. He is in clinic daily and offers same day appointments in his office he is also available for same day hospital consultations.
